De Braine-l'Alleud/Waterloo à Wavre (stage 1)

On the minor roads of the Brabant Ardennes

Length (in km)
28 km

This stage starts at Braine-l’Alleud railway station , near the Butte du Lion or Lion’s mound in Waterloo. Here you can experience the Brabant atmosphere, with its typical villas. The urban setting soon makes way for a more peaceful environment, such as the Sonian Forest, the Solvay regional estate and the Château de La Hulpe park.

Your journey then takes you to the edge of Genval lake, where you can savour a beer brewed in one of the region’s craft breweries. In peace and quiet, you can cross the market town of Rixensart towards Bierges and the end of this first stage, Wavre, the perfect place to daydream or do a little shopping.
