De Wavre à Jodoigne (stage 2)

On the minor roads of Hesbaye

Length (in km)
26 km

Set in the heart of Walloon Brabant, not far from Brussels, Wavre is your starting point for this second stage. Leaving the sports complex, you soon make your way out of the city to pedal along quiet country roads.

You pass through typical villages charmingly named Grez-Doiceau, Piétrebais or Mélin, one of the most beautiful villages of Wallonia. This ride ends on the Line 142 RAVeL as you enter Jodoigne, a town lying on the boundaries of Brabant and Hesbaye, which has been inhabited since Ancient Times.

The route:
The route runs along roads that are quiet but currently not signposted/waymarked. Click here for a detailed description.

Smooth (mostly asphalt).

Height difference:
Flat or imperceptible incline.

Here you are on a suggested connecting cycle route, but no directional signs have yet been set up except along the short stretch between Saint-Marie-Geest and Jodoigne, where you will follow the Line 142 RAVeL. You can refer to the interactive map on our website, the RAVeL map of the Province of Walloon Brabant, download the detailed description as a PDF file or download the GPX file below to organise your trip as well as possible.
Safety, precautions:
Most of the time, you will find yourself on cycle paths or quiet roads, but the motor traffic on the few sections along regional roads can be fairly heavy and fast.
